NASA, Wind River, and Sun foundations

A career built close to the machine.

The challenge

My early work ranged from NASA robotics and expert systems to VxWorks platform internals, board support packages, device drivers, networking, development tools, and Java runtime ports across MIPS and ARM.

The work

At NASA Kennedy Space Center, I conceived a real-time distributed fault-detection system and built drivers and diagnostics for robotic launch-processing hardware. At Wind River and Sun, I worked inside the operating system, toolchain, BSP, debugger, networking, and runtime layers that other engineers depended on.

The result and lesson

This foundation still shapes how I work. I am comfortable moving between strategy and the lowest layers of implementation—and I know when a high-level explanation is concealing a low-level truth.
